गुरुर्मन्त्रस्य देवस्य धर्मस्य तस्य एव वा ।
विशेषस्तु महादेव ! तद् वदस्व दयानिधे ।।
श्री गुरु स्तोत्रम् श्री महादेवी (पार्वती) ने कहा : हे दयानिधि शंभु ! गुरुमंत्र के देवता अर्थात् श्री गुरुदेव एवं उनका आचारादि धर्म क्या है – इस बारे में वर्णन करें ।

जीवात्मनं परमात्मनं दानं ध्यानं योगो ज्ञानम् ।
उत्कल काशीगंगामरणं न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 1 ।।
श्री महादेव बोले: जीवात्मा-परमात्मा का ज्ञान, दान, ध्यान, योग पुरी, काशी या गंगा तट पर मृत्यु – इन सबमें से कुछ भी
श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 1 ।।
प्राणं देहं गेहं राज्यं स्वर्गं भोगं योगं मुक्तिम् ।
भार्यामिष्टं पुत्रं मित्रं न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 2 ।।
प्राण, शरीर, गृह, राज्य, स्वर्ग, भोग, योग, मुक्ति, पत्नी, इष्ट, पुत्र, मित्र – इन सबमें से कुछ भी
श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 2 ।।
वानप्रस्थं यतिविधधर्मं पारमहंस्यं भिक्षुकचरितम् ।
साधोः सेवां बहुसुखभुक्तिं न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 3 ।।
वानप्रस्थ धर्म, यति विषयक धर्म, परमहंस के धर्म, भिक्षुक अर्थात् याचक के धर्म – इन सबमें से कुछ भी
श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 3 ।।
विष्णो भक्तिं पूजनरक्तिं वैष्णवसेवां मातरि भक्तिम् ।
विष्णोरिव पितृसेवनयोगं न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 4 ।।
भगवान विष्णु की भक्ति, उनके पूजन में अनुरक्ति, विष्णु भक्तों की सेवा, माता की भक्ति, श्रीविष्णु ही पिता रूप में हैं, इस प्रकार की पिता सेवा
– इन सबमें से कुछ भी श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 4 ।।
प्रत्याहारं चेन्द्रिययजनं प्राणायां न्यासविधानम् ।
इष्टे पूजा जप तपभक्तिर्न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 5 ।।
प्रत्याहार और इन्द्रियों का दमन, प्राणायाम, न्यास-विन्यास का विधान, इष्टदेव की पूजा, मंत्र जप, तपस्या व भक्ति – इन सबमें से कुछ भी श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 5 ।।
काली दुर्गा कमला भुवना त्रिपुरा भीमा बगला पूर्णा ।
श्रीमातंगी धूमा तारा न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 6 ।।
काली, दुर्गा, लक्ष्मी, भुवनेश्वरि, त्रिपुरासुन्दरी, भीमा, बगलामुखी (पूर्णा), मातंगी, धूमावती व तारा ये सभी मातृशक्तियाँ भी
श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 6 ।।
मात्स्यं कौर्मं श्रीवाराहं नरहरिरूपं वामनचरितम् ।
नरनारायण चरितं योगं न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 7 ।।
भगवान के मत्स्य, कूर्म, वाराह, नरसिंह, वामन, नर-नारायण आदि अवतार, उनकी लीलाएँ, चरित्र एवं तप आदि भी श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 7 ।।
श्रीभृगुदेवं श्रीरघुनाथं श्रीयदुनाथं बौद्धं कल्क्यम् ।
अवतारा दश वेदविधानं न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 8 ।।
भगवान के श्री भृगु, राम, कृष्ण, बुद्ध तथा कल्कि आदि वेदों में वर्णित दस अवतार श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है,
श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 8 ।।
गंगा काशी कान्ची द्वारा मायाऽयोध्याऽवन्ती मथुरा ।
यमुना रेवा पुष्करतीर्थ न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 9 ।।
गंगा, यमुना, रेवा आदि पवित्र नदियाँ, काशी, कांची, पुरी, हरिद्वार, द्वारिका, उज्जयिनी, मथुरा, अयोध्या आदि पवित्र पुरियाँ व पुष्करादि तीर्थ भी श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 9 ।।
गोकुलगमनं गोपुररमणं श्रीवृन्दावन-मधुपुर-रटनम् ।
एतत् सर्वं सुन्दरि ! मातर्न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 10 ।।
हे सुन्दरी ! हे मातेश्वरी ! गोकुल यात्रा, गौशालाओं में भ्रमण एवं श्री वृन्दावन व मधुपुर आदि शुभ नामों का रटन – ये सब भी
श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 10 ।।
तुलसीसेवा हरिहरभक्तिः गंगासागर-संगममुक्तिः ।
किमपरमधिकं कृष्णेभक्तिर्न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 11 ।।
तुलसी की सेवा, विष्णु व शिव की भक्ति, गंगा सागर के संगम पर देह त्याग और अधिक क्या कहुं परात्पर भगवान श्री कृष्ण की भक्ति भी
श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है, श्री गुरुदेव से बढ़कर नहीं है ।। 11 ।।
एतत् स्तोत्रम् पठति च नित्यं मोक्षज्ञानी सोऽपि च धन्यम् ।
ब्रह्माण्डान्तर्यद्-यद् ध्येयं न गुरोरधिकं न गुरोरधिकं ।। 12 ।।
