Where can the entrance to the inner well be seen,
When the inner energy, Kundalini, awakens before us?
Where can we see the path into that deep well,
When that sacred inner power moves forward?
ऊपै सोधे ताही प्रबोधे
तो अमृत रस पावे

The one who purifies through spiritual practice and awakens consciousness,
Attains the nectar of divine bliss.
When you purify the mind and awaken the soul,
You will surely drink the nectar of immortality.
गहन कोठरी बज्र कीवाड़ा
ता में लागा ताला
ताला खोल के भीतर बैठे
सो तो है गुरु आला
The inner chamber is dark, and its door is hard like a thunderbolt,
And it has a firm lock upon it.
The one who opens the lock and sits within,
Is truly the supreme Guru.
भीतर बड़ा उजाला भासे
एक मणि धर आगे
देख उजाला भीतर बैठे
जब तो सर्पिणी जागे
A magnificent light shines within,
Before the serpent bearing the jewel.
Beholding that light, one remains still within,
When the serpent-like Kundalini energy awakens.
कहीं न जावे कहीं न आवे
पुनि अमृत रस पावे
ना सो खट्टा ना सो मीठा
जो चाखे सो जाने
It neither goes anywhere nor comes from anywhere,
And again, one tastes the nectar of divine bliss.
It is neither sour nor sweet,
Only the one who tastes it knows its true essence.
ना कहीं जावे ना कहीं आवे
सो अंतर ही पावे
बाहर दृष्टि ना जावे अवधू
अंतर ही सब पावे
It neither goes anywhere nor comes from anywhere,
You will find it only within yourself.
Do not let your gaze wander outward, O ascetic,
For everything is attained within.
गुरु ज्ञानी गुरु ध्यानी पावे
अंतर ज्योत बतावे
ज्योत जगावे अंतर पावे
कहं ना आवे जावे
The wise and meditative Guru attains this path,
And reveals the inner light.
By awakening this light, you will find it within,
And you will no longer have to come and go.
श्वास का ताला श्वास की चाबी
जो जागे सो खोले
भीतर बैठ के सब कुछ देखे
ना बोले ना डोले
The breath itself is the lock, and the breath itself is the key,
Only the awakened one can open it.
Sitting within, one sees everything,
Yet neither speaks nor becomes disturbed.
शशा ऊपर सिंह गाजो
देख के नाथ का नाद बाजो
नाद का शब्द चहुँ ओर राजो
देख के सिंह तुरंत भाजो
A gentle rabbit roars over a lion,
Seeing that the sacred unstruck sound of the Lord has begun to resound.
The echo of this divine sound reigns in all four directions,
And seeing this, the lion of ego immediately runs away.
